Ruti – “FLOWERS”

Born as Ruti Olajugbagbe in Southend-On-Sea, this British singer and songwriter grew up in a music-loving, multi-cultural household. She was exposed to a diverse musical palate, ranging from gospel and disco to Nigerian musician Fela Kuti. At 18 she won season 7 of The Voice UK. Since she’s played festivals like Latitude and The Great Escape, venues like The Deaf Institute and opened for Olivia Rodrigo. Inspired by Adele, Labi Siffre and Stevie Wonder, she debuted with “Racing Cars” in 2019.

Singing about finding absolute peace and emotional freedom with the person you love, her new single shows gratitude to the safe sanctuary of a lover in a turbulent world. Capturing her uplifting lyrics in a breezy melodic tenderness, the song creates a luscious and organic ambience. With a soothing acoustic guitar, sunlit percussion and ambient keys feeling like warm sunbeams stroking your skin, it’s the satiny comfort of her vocals that makes this indie-soul jewel feel like coming home.
