In The Spotlight

Bianca James – “Monaco”

Born in Montreal to an Italian father and a British mother, this Canadian singer and songwriter grew up dreaming about the wild and free lifestyle of the French Riviera and the swinging rock ‘n’ roll scene of 60s London. Singing along to her parents’ vintage records, she’s honed her voice. Inspired by Motown and Stax and classic Britpop as well as Amy Winehouse, she’s ready to take on the world.

Combining her most vivid dreams with her own travel experiences, her debut single transports the listener to the glitz and glamour of the Riviera of the swinging 60s. Taken from her upcoming, self-titled album, expected on August 4th, the invigorating track opens with a wild go-go rhythm. And with the retro organ tones, warm sax and her sparkling vocals, this tune is a sunlit buoyant banger.
