In The Spotlight

Sam Cullen – “Forever”

Born and raised in Invercargill and now Auckland-based, this multi-faceted New Zealand singer, songwriter and musician started performing in high school. Playing guitar and keys, he studied jazz at the Victoria University School Of Music in Wellington and has performed at festivals like Rhythm & Vines. Inspired by Fleetwood Mac, Arctic Monkeys and The 1975, he released his debut “Small Town” in 2017.

Putting to music the pure excitement that is felt when someone realizes that they’ve fallen in love, while feeling uneasy to admit it, his new single is filled with infectious sonic nostalgia. Blending pop and rock and giving it some neon 80s flair, it’s the driving drums, stirring bass and scintillating synths that make this an organic jam. And with his retro-touched vocals, this tune will last forever.
