Alex Amen – “Changes”

Hailing from Texas, this singer and songwriter was born with natural musical talent. Recognized as a prodigy, he began classical jazz piano lessons at the age of 4. In his teens he changed to the guitar and immersed himself in 60s and 70s folk. He’s performed at festivals such as Newport Folk Festival and End Of The Road, as well as venues like L.A’s The Troubadour and Paradiso in Amsterdam. Inspired by John Denver, Jim Croce and Harry Nilsson, he debuted with “California Blues” in 2024.

Focusing on the inevitability of change, his new single explores finding acceptance of natural transitions in life and the sometimes heavy emotions that brings. Taken from his recently released album “Sun Of Amen”, this comforting song embraces us like a blanket. Dipped in a mellow 70s folk melody, it’s the gentle acoustic guitars, vintage-touched organ and a breezy flute that give it a cozy feel. And with his tender, silk-lined vocals, this nostalgia-filled tune is an airy retro gem.
