In The Spotlight

Cole Redding – “Knows My Name”

Hailing from Philadelphia, this singer and songwriter grew up dealing with a difficult childhood, marked by a broken home, trouble with addiction and his identity. His solace was found in music. He studied at a High School for the Arts and was later mentored by Jon Bon Jovi. He’s performed at festivals like Motor City Pride and XPoNential and venues such as XL Live and Desert 5 Spot. Inspired by Elton John, Holland-Dozier-Holland and Harry Styles, he released his debut “Dying 4 Love” in 2024.

Capturing the moment when you stop running from your past and find a sense of belonging when you move back to your hometown, his new single emphasises that home is a peace found within yourself. Taken from his debut album “A Boy From Nowhere”, this song gives indie-pop a cinematic touch. Starting subtly with an acoustic guitar, the melody evolves with a propulsive rhythm and ambient synths. And with raw emotion in his vocals, this rich tune is filled with bittersweet nostalgia.
