Marie-Clo – “Tides Of Fools”

Born as Marie-Claude Sarault, this French-Canadian singer, songwriter and dancer started her career on stages worldwide performing in musicals. Shifting her focus to music, she writes and sings in both English and French. In 2017 she won TFO’s tv search for francophone artists BRBR. She also debuted with her EP “Faune” and had her song “Sablier” featured in an Aero chocolates commercial.

Instantly catchy and lighthearted, her new single tackles the perks and awkward moments of rebuilding yourself after a breakup and recapturing some magic lost along the way. Gracie Convert – “You Got Me”

Born in London, but raised in South Africa, France and Monaco, this nomadic British/French vocalist, songwriter and producer describes music as being the main constant in her life. Her rich sound is a fusion of Neo-Soul, R&B and pop. She’s been featured on BBC Introducing, supported artists such as Jamie Isaac, Jerkcurb and Oscar WorldPeace on stage and released her debut single “I’m fine” in 2019.

Enchanting your eardrums with her silken, soul-dipped voice from the start, her new single soon finds an R&B beat to line this infectious bop with. Slightly reminiscent of Alicia Keys, it’s her velveteen, jazz-touched tones that chronicle the story of a young woman who falls in blissful love with someone special for the first time, that elevates this delightful Neo-Soul love song to exciting new heights.

PM Warson – “(Don’t) Hold Me Down”

Having grown up surrounded by heavy rock, the ghost of new wave and the fading light of 00s indie, this British singer/songwriter found his own fit in the Rhythm & Blues of the 50s and 60s. He saved up to buy a Rickenbacker guitar, favored by the likes of John Fogarty and Paul Weller. He’s worked as a touring musician and played at the Blues Kitchen and a Mary Quant exhibition at the V&A Museum.

Recorded on analog equipment and sounding like a long lost gem from the Stax or Motown vaults, his new single is vintage 60s soul at its very best. Taken from his upcoming debut album “True Story”, expected on April 23rd, it’s the buzzing beat, rich guitar riffs and lavish horns that allow his authentic, soulful vocals and all-girl backing singers to take your ears and travel back to the golden age of soul.

Major Funk – “Slippin'”

Founded by bassist Étienne Girard in 2014, these 7, highly skilled, Canadian musicians have been getting crowds moving across the country at festivals like Kaslo Jazz Fest and Folk On The Rocks. Inspired by classic 70s funk bands such as Chic as well as modern pop and new funk artists like Vulfpeck, they give old school sounds a contemporary twist. They released their debut EP “Thoughts” in 2018.

Drawing on the vigorous funk grooves of the 1970s, their new single is a shot of pure sonic energy. Taken from their album “Is That You?” and guided by the potent bass, brisk percussion and playful wah-wah guitars, it’s the booming brass that truly brings this track to life. And with Selina’s powerful, soul-drenched vocals soaring over the notes, this catchy jam is stuffed with funkalicious, feel-good fun.

Omar Coleman – “Strange Times”

Born and raised in Chicago, this singer and songwriter grew up immersed in soul music. Initially working as a barber, he found himself in the music shop at quiet times, where he fell in love with the harmonica. Spicing up pure authentic blues with funk and soul revival elements since 2010 and inspired by blues legends like Buddy Guy and Howlin’ Wolf, he released his 2015 album “Born & Raised”.

Reflecting on the modern state of the world amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, his new single takes the relatable lyrics and pours them into a bath of blues. Being greeted by a classic blues guitar riff, it’s soon joined by a funkier take on blues. Recorded on tape on an analog Tascam 388, it’s the organic sound of the organ and brass as well as his raw and fierce vocals, that make this hot jam blues magic.

Molly Burman – “Fool Me With Flattery”

When you are born with a father who was a performing bass player, a mother who was an Irish singer and a respected jazz musician as a granddad, a career in music was always on the cards. This British singer/songwriter wrote her first song with her father when she was 6 years young and hasn’t long finished music college. Inspired by Joni Mitchell, she blends emotional lyricism with indie pop.

Making a carefully crafted melody sound effortless, her debut single tackles misogyny with a laid-back vibe and razor-sharp lyrics. With a driving rhythm, vintage-dipped guitar plucks and dreamy harmonies painting an auditory landscape, it’s her dazzling vocals merging a sixties sound with a modern edge while expressing the relatable caustic words, that make this debut worth every form of flattery.
