Terra Volta – “Boo Boo Man”

Hailing from Nijmegen, this exciting Dutch band started life as a small jam band back in 2011, but has evolved into a dynamic, eight-piece party outfit, which turns every audience into a dancing crowd. They use a blend of multi-cultural influences, from ska and reggae, to African and Caribbean sounds to create an upbeat and lively musical experience. They debuted with their EP “Revelry” in 2018.

From the very first uplifting guitar plucks, their new single emits cheerful rays of African sunshine. Mixed with some Caribbean warmth, the fresh guitar is soon joined by an invigorating tribal rhythm and a dazzling organ, while they narrate the story of two friends who found a way to keep the Boo Boo Man away. And with the addition of luminous horns, this tune brings the summer to January.

Amanda Tenfjord – “As If”

Ironically hailing from the small village Tennfjord, which is a coincidence, this Norwegian songbird with Greek roots moved to Trondheim to study medicine at University, but eventually decided to solely focus on her music. With a passionate energy and a hypnotic elegance, she’s been compared to the likes of Adele and London Grammar. She released her aptly titled debut “First Impression” in 2018.

With a velvety minimalism and her refreshing voice, her new single sounds as crisp as the morning dew. Starting with a mere electronic rhythm, reverberating in the background, she enchants the listener with her mesmeric vocal dexterity, before the electrifying chorus takes over and erupts with sizzling synths and an ardent intensity, sharing both alluring beauty and sheer power in one jam.

Tennis – “Need Your Love”

Denver-based husband and wife duo Patrick Riley and Alaina Moore met in 2008 at the University of Colorado, but didn’t start the band until after returning from an eight-month sailing expedition two years later. They debuted their retro lo-fi sound on their single “South Carolina” in 2010, released their first album “Cape Dory” in 2011 and set off on a world tour across the US, Europe and Russia.

Hoisting the sonic sails and cruising the auditory oceans, their new single is multi-faceted pop with a vintage vibe. Taken from their upcoming album “Swimmer”, expected to drop on February 14th, the riveting rhythm and playful piano set the mood for Alaina’s seductive, yet sassy vocals to drift over the 70s-touched melody and unexpected tempo changes, steering the tune to undiscovered realms.

The Fox And The Cat – “Gotta Move”

This Italian busking duo, consisting of Enrico Morello aka The Fox and Alberto Della Rossa aka The Cat, discovered a shared passion for groggy whiskey and gritty blues. Taking a guitar, an empty whiskey flask and a contrabass to the streets, they play music from deep within their souls that can be felt in your gut. Just give them a meal or two and a Gin & Tonic and they’ll show you their hearts.

Touched by the pure passion of John Lee Hooker and the vast virtuosity of Jimi Hendrix, their new single takes the listener on a sonic journey through the musical legacy of the American south. Letting their slide guitar sing, their bass bounce and the rhythm reverberate, they soak their spirited, storytelling sounds in a dark whiskey haze and make this some authentic and powerful blue-eyed blues.

Laura Kits – “’81 Chevy”

Born in Amsterdam, this Dutch songbird finds her musical inspiration in American country-rock and pop. She forged an unique country sound, influenced by artists such as Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, as well as the pop & rock tones of Bruce Springsteen and The Beatles. Also an accomplished songwriter and violinist, she debuted with her critically acclaimed EP “Skipper Canyon Road” in 2017.

Grabbing the listeners attention with a boot-stompin’ beat and a country guitar singing along to her powerful voice, her new single delivers upbeat vibes with a fierce edge. Taken from her upcoming album “Holy Fountain Water”, expected at the end of March, the chorus erupts with pop-coated country twang and empowering lyrics, making this an invigorating, foot-tappin’ Americana jam.

The Mowgli’s – “Wasting Time”

The five members of this Californian band take the best parts of the Golden State, sprinkles them with some west coast sunshine and merges them with their message of universal love. With a sound influenced by classics like The Beach Boys and Fleetwood Mac, as well as modern artists such as Fun. and Grouplove, they slide across the genres. They debuted with “San Francisco” back in 2012.

Kicking off the new decade with some joyous tones, their new single is a celebration of exhilarating upbeat pop. The bouncy beats, passionate synths and ear-stroking vocal harmonies give the contemporary tune a retro touch. Offsetting the melodic exuberance is the lyrical search for meaning in a repetitive world. Blending the auditory jubilance and melancholic lyricism, this is a sprightly gem.
