In The Spotlight

Fieh – “Glu”

Although lead-singer Sofie Tollefsbøl is clearly the face of this Norwegian band from Oslo, there are actually 9 members. She started the band three years ago by putting together experienced musicians who were all on the jazz course she was taking at the Norwegian Academy Of Music. Their sound is a blend of lush contemporary electronics generously laden with funk, soul and jazz influences.

This is their first official single and it’s a glorious debut indeed. Intricate instrumentation with a funky rhythm and infectious hand claps lay the groundwork for this energetic arrangement to take shape. Sculpted with jazzy synths, a vintage organ bridge, smooth guitar chords and Sofie‘s hypnotic vocals, it has a laid-back, summery vibe to warm up any cold winter’s day.
