The Dawn Brothers – “Holy Water”

Although they are not technically related, this Dutch foursome from Rotterdam are brothers through their love of rock ‘n’ roll. They created a whole new spin on the Americana/rootsrock genre, made famous by the likes of Neil Young and The Band, by taking the classic sounds and bringing it right up to date. Their debut album “Stayin’ Out Late” was released in 2017 to rave reviews.

On their latest single they added touches of gospel, soul and rhythm & blues to their rock ‘n’ roll heritage to forge an irresistible, energetic ear-worm. Filled to the brim with juicy percussion, singing blues guitar, perky piano and raw, unfiltered vocals, they sing about corruption and greed. Their boot-stompin’ musical virtuosity generates a mighty and robust slice of Dutch Americana.

Blissful – “Find A Way”

Blissful is the new project of this Icelandic duo, consisting of singer/songwriter Svala Kali and producer/songwriter Einar Egils. Also being the founding members of the underground band Steed Lord  enabled them to tour the world and to have their music featured in movies and on TV. Their new brainchild combines their accumulated musical experience with their unique take on electro-pop.

Their latest single takes that electro-pop style and elevates it to new heights. Showing off their impressive songwriting skills, it has a beautiful, atmospheric melody and a catchy, mesmerizing chorus which gives the song an anthemic quality. With a pulsating electronic rhythm, thrilling, melodic synths and Svala’s bewitching vocals, it’s a captivating piece of electro-pop excellence.
