SUMMY – “Wish I Never Met You”
Born as Summer Ferguson in Mesa, Arizona, this rising singer, songwriter and social media influencer had a passion for music from an early age. She initially gained popularity on Twitter and Instagram, before moving to Los Angeles aged 15 to pursue a musical career. Inspired by the likes of Whitney Houston, Phil Collins and Lady Gaga, she debuted her genre-defying sound on “Sus” in 2018.
Releasing past trauma’s brought on by a toxic relationship through the cathartic properties of music, her new single is a sparkling electro pop dream. Dipped in delicious nostalgia from the neon colored melody, she balances the emotions and healing from her words with an 80s beat and retro synths. Born near Pittsburgh as Grace Martine Tandon, this rising singer and songwriter began playing piano at three years young and added guitar, saxophone and flute along the way. Inspired by Amy Winehouse, Sarah McLachlan and Dido, she debuted her electro-pop sound on her single “Hide Away” in 2015 and won a Grammy after lending her voice to The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down” in 2016.
Processing a feeling of heartache after a relationship breakdown and learning to be on her own again, her new single is as much cathartic as it is a sonic feast.
