In The Spotlight

Marti West – “Out Of My Head”

Born under the Tuscan sun and based in London, this Anglo-Italian singer and songwriter studied music and English at university, before signing up for a songwriting diploma at BIMM. He went on to play iconic venues such as The Troubadour in London and The Fleece in Bristol. Drawing inspiration from The War On Drugs, Bon Iver and Dustin Tebbutt, he debuted with his EP “Istanbul” in 2016.

Singing about the touch of madness which kicks in when your feelings for a person are not requited, his new single wraps the poignant lyrics in a Fleetwood Mac-inspired tune. Taken from his album “Talking To Strangers”, it’s the retro bounce of the rhythm, fresh guitars and sparkling keys that forge a dreamy folk-pop sound. And with the honesty of his airy vocals, this groove is a true earworm.
