In The Spotlight

Rosa Raye – “Forever Boy”

Based in Copenhagen, this Danish singer and songwriter decided to trade in a mainstream record deal in favor of pursuing an independent career. After songwriting trips to Los Angeles, New York and Nashville, she’s created a modern R&B, pop and soul fusion, with a Scandinavian flair. Inspired by artists like Whitney Houston, BeyoncĂ© and Aretha Franklin, she debuted with “Living Spree” in 2020.

Lyrically giving up on superficial relationships and cynical dating advice, while giving in to a new love, her new single wraps her romance in an infectiously playful groove. With an insatiable bouncy beat, hypnotic bass plucks and sizzling synths giving a Neo-Disco vibe to the poptastic tune, it’s her refreshing, retro-touched vocals that douses this smoking dance-floor filler in plentiful, feel-good fun.

Christian Lopez – “Girl & A Gun”

Born and raised in Martinsburg, West-Virginia, this gifted singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist started taking piano lessons aged 5. Driven by the urge to learn every string instrument, he later accomplished that. He auditioned for American Idol twice and got the golden ticket both times. Inspired by Tom Waits, Johnny Cash and The Avett Brothers, he debuted with his EP “Pilot” in 2014.

Capturing the purest form of musical beauty while narrating an intricate love story, his new single blends laid-back Americana, folk and a touch of country with a 70s songwriter flair. Taken from his upcoming album “Magdalena”, expected on June 9th, the melody is built with an acoustic guitar and retro percussion. And with his authentic and emotive vocals, this tune is a refined gem.
