In The Spotlight

Tamar Berk – “Drop In The Bucket”

This Cleveland-native singer/songwriter wrote her first song aged 16 and has traveled the country, immersing herself in various genres. From the Chicago garage-rock and punk scene in bands like Starball and Sweet Heat, to Portland, OR’s 60s-inspired band The Pynnacles and 70s-influenced Paradise. Inspired by Thin Lizzy, Elvis Costello and Taylor Swift, she debuted with “Shadow Clues” in 2020.

Although lyrically telling an emotive story about how being patronized and put down by a partner can accumulate until the bucket overflows, her new single wraps it in a retro-dipped tune. Taken from her upcoming album “Tiny Injuries”, expected on August 18th, it’s the crisp synths, pulsating rhythm and sparkling guitars that make this groove a buoyant classic rock/neon pop blend.
