Holy Oysters – “Methylene Blue”

The story behind this Parisian five-piece band tells about a parallel universe, consisting of five separate communities, each worshiping their own higher power. These powers are represented by symbols the band members wear on medallions. The unification of these five symbols into one band is meant to represent unity and promote peace in a time of global unrest.

Their latest single has an ethereal, dreamy feel. The captivating synths, hypnotizing electric guitar riffs and their smooth, serene harmonies create a mesmerizing, almost enchanting piece of experimental psychedelic pop. With its celestial soundscape and luscious richness, this song is truly out of this world.

Marlene – “Miss You A Little”

Hailing from Jönköping and now living in Stockholm, this Swedish songstress debuted in 2014 with her EP “Indian Summer”, just after breaking up with her boyfriend. The EP’s theme was about the feeling of wanting to get away from everything. Her second EP “Sweet” was quite the opposite, chronicling her blossoming relationship with her new boyfriend. She’s releasing her music on her own label “Sweet Music”.

That she is a true rising star of pop music is evident from her new single. Slightly reminiscent of Katy Perry and Cheryl Cole, the captivating beat grabs you from the very first moment and a dazzling synthpop tune with a touch of R&B emerges. With her radiant, lavish vocals taking center-stage, it’s incredibly catchy, memorable and definitely chart-worthy.

The Blemish – “California”

This Los Angeles-based duo consists of Bo Haan and Emin Karimi. Both are accomplished singers, songwriters and producers in their own right. Karimi is a child prodigy, who started working as a professional songwriter and producer at the tender age of 10. Haan used to be a lawyer, but found his calling in music. Together they create an auditory amalgamation of old-school funk, soul and contemporary electro grooves.

Their latest single is brimming with that vintage, 80s style funk and very danceable disco tones. The instrumentation is phenomenal with a highly addictive beat, snazzy funk guitar, sweltering synths and fierce, hot horns. The choral-style vocals fuse fluently with the sparkly, glitterball feel of the music. It is a very current take on the funk revivalism of late and embraces that glitzy dance-floor filler vibe.
