In The Spotlight

Kenneth Qua – “Two Of Us”

This Vienna-based singer and songwriter started his career as a street musician, honing his craft and uploading acoustic covers to YouTube. He played in several bands, both in Singapore as in Boston, USA, most recently in pop-rock outfit Doves & Ravens, with whom he released an album “Wonder” in 2016. Influenced by Bruno Mars and John Legend, he debuted solo with “Ghost” early this year.

With an infectious funky bounce and a touch of hiphop, his new single is an ingenious melting pot of musical influences. Expanding the retro beat with 90s R&B synths and playful fingersnaps adds an alluring nostalgic feel, while soaking it all with a splash of modern pop. And with his soulful vocals singing about the feeling of invincibility in romance, this exciting new groove is utterly irresistible.

Jessie Wagner – “End Of Time”

Although she’s only just venturing into a solo career with her bluesy R&B/neo-soul sound, this vocalist, songwriter and actor is no stranger to the world of entertainment. She’s donned the world’s biggest stages touring with the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Chic and Little Steven, as well as being a highly sought after session singer, vocal arranger and the front-woman of the band Army Of The Underdog.

Hearken back to the glory days of the 60s girl groups, her new single is dripping with delectable vintage soulful spirit. Taken from her forthcoming debut album “Shoes Droppin'”, expected on October 9th, it’s a playful rhythm, crisp saxophone and striking horns that embody the swinging sixties. And with her joyous vocals adding pure love to the melody, this jubilant jam is only the beginning.
