Genevieve Miles – “Storm Before”

This Birmingham-born, British songbird dipped her toe into the world of music in the folk clubs of the Cotswolds during her teenage years. Now in her early twenties, her sound evolved from an upbeat folk/pop to a sunny, one-of-a-kind genre meld. She released her debut single “Daffodils” in 2017. Gaining support from BBC Introducing, she played a set on their London-based live event in 2019.

Enchanting us with a shimmering dreamscape and her angelic voice, her new single takes her own, special kind of silken, Summery tones and blends them with mellow 80s instrumentation. Incorporating touches of jazz, indie and pop, while creating a sultry atmosphere, makes this chilled tune sound extraordinary. And with the addition of a sweltering, retro sax solo, this jam is hypnotic and sexy.

Vaness Alegacy – “You Get Me”

Born as Vanessa Grazia Vescio to an Italian family and raised in the bustling cultural melting pot of Toronto, this Canadian singer/songwriter’s sound is an equally diverse brew. Inspired by Mariah Carey’s “Daydream” album, she gives timeless flavors of gospel, classic rock, pop and R&B a soulful shade. She’s written songs for commercials and TV shows and released her debut “Shooting Star” in 2015.

Celebrating being larger than life and true to oneself, her new single pumps the lyrical empowerment into the boisterous melody. While it starts with a deceptively mellow indie guitar and her R&B-stroked tones, it soon finds its classic rock-saturated backbone in the raucous chorus. Performing a balancing act between smoothness and sonic attitude, this mighty jam is filled with electricity.
