Martha Hill – “Change”

This Scottish singer and songwriter left her home at 17 to busk her way around Europe. Now Newcastle-based, she’s created an infectious alternative pop sound to frame her husky vocals and a penchant for storytelling. After securing funding from the PRS Women Make Music Fund, she debuted with her EP “Be Still” in 2019 and received support from BBC 6Music, BBC Introducing & Jools Holland.

Inspired by her own experience of leaving her hometown when she was 17, her new single merges catchy indie-pop goodness with relatable lyricism about evolving into adulthood. With a sweeping rhythm, vibrant keys and an addictive hook, she tells her story with the effervescent melody, as well as with her memorable vocals. Colorful, bubbly and charismatic, this tune is indie-pop at its best.
