In The Spotlight

Jennifer Coy – “Cold Night”

Hailing from the musical city by the sea, Brighton, this British singer and songwriter creates a delectable fusion of jazz, pop and neo-soul. She studied music at the BIMM Institute, graduating in 2020 and molded an entrancing, deep and jazzy-tinged vocal tone. Drawing inspiration from wide-ranging artists like Sarah Vaughan, Jorja Smith and Celeste, she released her debut “Care” earlier this year.

Painting a picture of spending time in a warm and cozy home with that someone special, while the weather outside is frightful, her new single captures that dreamy, tender feeling of being in love. Wrapping her words in a comforting and intimate melody, it’s the mellow rhythm, gentle piano and mild horns that create a soft mood. And with her soulful vocals, this jam is filled with sonic charm.
