Thee Sacred Souls – “Running Away”

Formed in 2019 by singer Josh Lane, drummer Alex Garcia and bassist Sal Samano, this San Diego-based trio began uploading some 30-second demos to Instagram, which found their way to Daptone Records head Gabe Roth. They developed an intricate blend of suave 60s soul and groovy 70s R&B. Inspired by Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and Al Green, they debuted with “Can I Call You Rose” in 2020.

Imaging yourself in the midst of the swinging 60s for little over 3 minutes, their new single is dripping with vintage soulfulness. Lyrically highlighting the importance of remaining true in a relationship and the devastation when it’s taken for granted, the track unfolds with balmy bass plucks, riveting rhythm and lively horns. And with sugary-sweet vocals tickling your ears, this tune is a soulful gem.

Lenn – “Silicone”

Growing up in Hertfordshire with only Christian music in the home, this rising British singer and songwriter didn’t discover other genres until she was in her teens. Finding her own distinctive style, she joined Icarus on their sold-out tour and on their song “Last Night Felt Like The Future” in 2022. Inspired by artists like Bon Iver and James Blake, she released her debut “Dreams Are A Nightmare” in 2023.

With vulnerable lyrics about wishing you knew the outcome of your life’s decisions, before making a mistake, her new single blends smooth modern R&B with elements of electro-pop. Creating an irresistible dreamscape, it’s the elegant piano, gentle beat and shimmering synths that adds a delicate sensibility. Mathew V – “My Boy”

Hailing from Vancouver, this Canadian vocalist has had 10 years of operatic, jazz and theatrical vocal training, before he moved to London to study at the European Institute of Contemporary Music and immersing himself in the local music scene. Having returned to Canada, he opened for Rita Mae and MAGIC! on tour. Inspired by Paloma Faith and Shania Twain, he debuted with “Tell Me Smooth” in 2017.

Doused in the glamorous hues of a song Marilyn Monroe could have sung, his new single continues his triumphant return to his jazzy roots. Taken from his upcoming album “Anything Goes”, expected on April 14th, the retro groove starts with a smoky double bass and cheeky fingersnaps. Joined by a frisky piano, sprightly rhythm and his vintage-dipped vocal silk, this jazz-infused jam is an ode to love.

Katie Fee – “Haven’t Even Poured The Whiskey”

Born in Sioux Falls and based in Nashville, this singer and songwriter grew up listening to 90s country music. She attended Belmont University to study music business and emerged herself in the local songwriting community, co-writing songs for others. Inspired by country artists like Faith Hill, Shania Twain and Deana Carter, she debuted her country-rock sound on “Sunsets And Fireworks” in 2021.

Inspired by a birthday party where a bottle of whiskey got left unopened at the end, her new single gives a whimsical twist to a rich sonic amalgamation of classic and modern country, retro rock and a touch of pop. With an imposing beat, howling electric guitars, playful steel guitar and the frisky twang in her big vocals, this joyous country groove will have you drunk on love before the end of the song.

Born on the West-Coast and based in Toronto, this soulful Canadian singer and songwriter was raised by musician parents. With a background in jazz and songwriting and being a gifted guitarist, he moved to Toronto to build a career. Initially busking and taking every gig offered, he started to hone his craft. Inspired by John Mayer, D’Angelo and Stevie Wonder, he debuted with “Changes” in 2019.

Creating a silken sonic soundscape from expertly layered instrumentation and poetic, honest lyrics, his new single intuitively blends smooth pop, classic soul and laid-back jazz.
