Emily Middlemas – “Lost & Found”

This Scottish songstress from Glasgow auditioned for The X-Factor UK in 2014 at the tender age of 15 and reached the judges houses, but was eliminated because judge Cheryl Cole didn’t feel she was ready. However, she returned with renewed gusto in 2016 and reached the live shows, where she ultimately became fourth. Currently she is on her first headline tour around the UK and Ireland.

Although she mostly focused on delicate, fragile ballads on the X-Factor live shows, her debut single displays a completely different side to her and highlights her prodigious vocal range. It’s a contemporary combination of those spellbinding vocals, glorious buoyant beats and red-hot synth action, which make this imposing song extremely current and hugely chart-worthy.
