Having had an interest in the West-Coast sound of the late 70s, Dutch musician/producer Phil Martin always felt like creating his own take. Instead he produced incredible soul and jazz for The Jazzinvaders and Laura Vane & The Vipertones. But when he met singer Lo van Gorp, who’s sang backing vocals for artists like Paul Carrack, Chaka Khan & Al Jarreau, he knew he found the perfect vocal fit.
Capturing the Californian sun on a roadtrip back to the 70s, their new single adds a touch of suave disco to their feel-good vibes. Akin to Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers, they blend a jazz-infused rhythm and bright sax with silken, multi-vocal harmonies. Taken from their album “Sentimental Fools”, this groove is ideal to close your eyes and dream about tropical palm trees and sunlit days.
