Having grown up surrounded by heavy rock, the ghost of new wave and the fading light of 00s indie, this British singer/songwriter found his own fit in the Rhythm & Blues of the 50s and 60s. He saved up to buy a Rickenbacker guitar, favored by the likes of John Fogarty and Paul Weller. He’s worked as a touring musician and played at the Blues Kitchen and a Mary Quant exhibition at the V&A Museum.
Recorded on analog equipment and sounding like a long lost gem from the Stax or Motown vaults, his new single is vintage 60s soul at its very best. Taken from his upcoming debut album “True Story”, expected on April 23rd, it’s the buzzing beat, rich guitar riffs and lavish horns that allow his authentic, soulful vocals and all-girl backing singers to take your ears and travel back to the golden age of soul.
