In The Spotlight

Johnny Ashby – “On My Way”

Growing up with the music of Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie and Billy Bragg, this exciting British singer and songwriter discovered music through his dad’s mixtapes. As a teen, he played in various bands and later started doing session work. Now based in Los Angeles, he’s added inspiration from The Lumineers and John Mayer to his lustrous sound. He released his debut EP “The Cannonball Days” in 2015.

Laced with a generous helping of radiant positivity and joyfulness, his new single is a sonic cocktail of indie-pop with a splash of folk and a drop of country. Taken from his album “Time Of Our Lives”, this sunlit song oozes a playful energy from the sprightly guitars, danceable rhythms and whimsical harmonies. And with a slight grit in his voice, this jovial jam is brisk, intoxicating and utterly irresistible.
