In The Spotlight

Willie J Healey – “Sure Feels Good”

Based in Bristol, this British singer and songwriter grew up exposed to the R&B and pop/hiphop his older sisters listened to, as well as the classic albums of the 70s his dad played. Initially pursuing a career in sports, he started boxing aged 10 and stopped aged 17, while continuing his music as a hobby. Inspired by The Beatles, Iggy Pop and Neil Young, he released his debut EP “HD Malibu” in 2015.

Giving a warm, sunlit preview of next years spring, before winter has even truly begun, his new single is a cheery, feel-good jam. Taken from his upcoming album “Buddy”, expected on March 23rd, he doused the tune with a touch of funk, Philadelphia soul and a dash of R&B. With a funky rhythm, soulful guitars and his Beatles-esque vocals, this sweet slice of sonic nostalgia sure makes you feel good.
