Venice Heath – “Keep On Thinking”

Started in 2020, this indie-pop project is the brain child of Italian-born, London-based singer-songwriter Alessandro Pavan. Encouraged by his music-loving father, getting a bass guitar for Christmas showed him his path. A session musician before lockdown, the pandemic allowed him to focus on his own music. Inspired by The Beatles, Foals and Tame Impala, he released his debut “Say No More” in 2021.

Gripping from the very first, sunshiny guitar strum, his new single reminisces about the careless bliss of being a teenager. Taken from his upcoming EP “Summernight”, expected on May 19th, the retro-tinged tune is created with analog gear. From the sweltering synths and the driving beat, to the vibrant guitars and balmy vocals, this groove invites the sun in way before the Summer arrives.

Frankie Jobling – “Where Do You Go When You Go Quiet”

Born and raised in Newcastle, this British neo-soul singer and songwriter grew up in a music-loving household. Family parties dancing to the greats like Elton John and Gladys Knight & The Pips are a happy memory. She’s been gigging non stop and shared festival stages with Madness and ELIZA. Inspired by Aretha Franklin and Billie Holiday, she released her debut single “Are We Dreaming?” in 2021.

Intuitively written with an empathetic honesty, her new single describes the feeling of detachment from the world when you suffer from mental health issues. Starting with an ear-strokingly smooth guitar and her sultry, soulful voice, soon the song ascends with an R&B rhythm and layered instrumentation. Filled with heartfelt emotion and a genuine vulnerability, this tune is sheer sonic silk.
