In The Spotlight

Mathew V – “My Boy”

Hailing from Vancouver, this Canadian vocalist has had 10 years of operatic, jazz and theatrical vocal training, before he moved to London to study at the European Institute of Contemporary Music and immersing himself in the local music scene. Having returned to Canada, he opened for Rita Mae and MAGIC! on tour. Inspired by Paloma Faith and Shania Twain, he debuted with “Tell Me Smooth” in 2017.

Doused in the glamorous hues of a song Marilyn Monroe could have sung, his new single continues his triumphant return to his jazzy roots. Taken from his upcoming album “Anything Goes”, expected on April 14th, the retro groove starts with a smoky double bass and cheeky fingersnaps. Joined by a frisky piano, sprightly rhythm and his vintage-dipped vocal silk, this jazz-infused jam is an ode to love.
