Kelly Jarrard – “He Can Wait”

Hailing from Stockbridge, GA, this singer and songwriter taught herself to play guitar aged 13 and, inspired by classic sounds such as Motown, soul and rhythm & blues, she started writing her own material. She graduated with a degree in music from Clayton State University. Influenced by Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Amy Winehouse, she uses her 60s-dipped voice to create a soulfully hip sound.

Taken from her debut EP “It’s Time”, her latest single takes hold of your dancing shoes from the very first bracing saxophone tones. Immersed in glorious Motown hues, the foot-tappin’ rhythm, harmonious choral singers and funky brass erupts into a colorful flood of vintage vibes. And with her sumptuous vocals, filled with 60s soulfullness, you can definitely have your musical cake and eat it too!

WALLA – “Golden Nights”

Consisting of an eclectic mix of musicians from all over the world, this Los Angeles based quartet blends their diverse cultural heritage into an edgy indie-pop sound and immerses it in lush, vintage vibes. Likened to bands such as Phoenix and Foster The People, they’ve played reputable venues such as The Satellite and The Troubadour and released their debut EP “Animal Of Love” back in 2012.

As an initial taster of their upcoming self-titled EP, which is expected to drop this Summer, their new single teases your senses with shimmering 80s synth-pop dripping from its nostalgic grooves. With a bouncy beat and spiraling guitars supporting the mesmerizing, electronic soundscape, the infectious, lo-fi melody fuses with the suave, hypnotic vocals into an euphonic synthesis of gold.
