In The Spotlight

SK & The Kings – “Even Closer”

Born in Luton Town and now London-based, this soulful singer and songwriter was raised listening to her families vinyl collection. Immersed in the legendary sounds of Donny Hathaway and Aretha Franklin and an injection of jazz tones in her teens, she shaped a delectable auditory blend. Having worked tirelessly with her band honing her distinctive sound, she debuted with “Nostalgia” in 2019.

Finding the perfect balance between soul, jazz and pop, her third single expresses a suave sonic charisma. With a laid-back electric guitar, a mellow rhythm and sumptuous harmonies stroking your ears from the get-go, the laid-back vibe is spiced up with some sweet horns. And with her lush, soul-soaked vocals singing about loving yourself, this is a magnificent jam you’ll always want to keep close.
