In The Spotlight

April Ivy – “Can’t Fight This Feeling”

Born as Mariana Gonçalves, this 20 year young singer and songwriter grew up in the radiant sunshine of Portugal. From the age of nine she provided voice dubs for Disney films, like Toy Story 3 and Tangled. In 2016 she topped the national iTunes chart as an independent artist with her acclaimed debut “Be OK”, which led to her becoming the first Portuguese artist to sign with Universal Music France.

Returning to her independent roots, her new single brings out infectious disco beats and douses them into some resplendent glitterball luster. Built upon a groovy bass-line, the sweltering synths, gleaming guitars and funky hooks forge a virulent vibe. And with her tingling, retro-touched vocals singing about self-empowerment, this is an anthemic disco-pop jam that will make you feel great.
