The Brummies – “Sunshine”

Born in Birmingham, AL, now Nashville-based, this multi-instrumentalist trio has been playing music together since high school. Influenced by the likes of The Beatles, Elton John and Electric Light Orchestra, their trademark sound blends 60s psych-rock with 90s indie-folk. They’ve toured with NEEDTOBREATHE and BANNERS, played a slew of festivals and debuted with “Eternal Reach” in 2018.

Inspired by the late soul singer Bill Withers, their new single is gleaming with sunlit positivity. Forging a buttery smooth, 60s-dipped groove from the airy guitar and upbeat rhythm, lead singer John Davidson adds a touch of modernity with his joyous indie vocals. And with a sprinkling of lustrous brass over the uplifting melody, this jubilant jam is basking in warm rays of summery sunshine.
