Asta – “Ahhh”

Born as Asta Evelyn Binnie-Ireland in Cygnet, Tasmania, this Australian singer and songwriter grew up surrounded by music. She started busking on the streets at the age of 7. Inspired by Whitney Houston, Gwen Stefani and Chaka Khan, she debuted with “Escape” in 2012. Her second single “My Heart Is On Fire” won Triple J’s Unearthed High. She also opened for Ellie Goulding and Cosmo’s Midnight.

Returning after a 4 year hiatus and produced by Cosmo’s Midnight, her new single is an invigorating sonic trip back to yesteryear. Generously doused in neon 80s sparkles, it’s the sizzle of the synths, the bounce of the beat and the funky vibes that create an irresistible groove. And with her silky, soaring vocal flair dancing over the melody, this retro-dipped track just oozes pastel-colored nostalgia.

Accompanied by an emotive acoustic guitar and a velvety rhythm, this honey-dipped smooth groove is filled with sonic intimacy and charisma.
