MANE – “Breathing Again”

Born in Adelaide as Paige Court, this Australian singer and songwriter started teaching herself guitar aged 16. While studying media arts at university, she began seriously pursuing a musical career. Since then she’s performed at festivals like Groovin’ The Moo alongside The Wombats and Meg Mac. Inspired by Hayley Williams, Billie Eilish and Lorde, she debuted with “What If The Love Dies” in 2017.

Written about the ability to look back and reflect on the past, rather than letting it consume you, her new single is an impassioned pop anthem. Starting smoothly with a mellow piano and her enchanting voice, the song ascends to cinematic heights in the rousing chorus. With catchy hooks, energetic drums and her vitalizing vocal power, this rich tune is a modern take on sparkling neon 80s pop.

Peter Raffoul – “Thought You Should Know”

Originally from Leamington, this Canadian singer and songwriter hails from a highly musical family. His dad Jody played in rock bands for over three decades, his brother Billy is a singer/songwriter in his own right. He started playing piano and writing songs in his late teens. Now based in Nashville and inspired by The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, he debuted with “F****D Up Together” in 2021.

First creating a shimmering soundscape with a soft synth and his serene, slightly balmy voice admitting to crashing his car, his new single fuses his talent for captivating storytelling with a lush, retro-touched folk-rock melody. Adding some oopmph to the chorus, it’s the zesty beat, vivid guitars and mild accordion that makes this vintage track an ear-pleasing tune you definitely should know.
