Harriette Pilbeam, better known by her stage-name Hatchie, is a singer/songwriter from Brisbane, Australia. While developing her distinct dream-pop sound, she experimented with combining sugary sweet pop with darker instruments and production, resulting in a complex, multi-layered musical landscape, which is both catchy and mesmerizing.
Her second single is an outstanding example of her accomplished songwriting skills. It effortlessly merges her lyrical story-telling with a cleverly layered lavish melody. Build up with sweeping guitars, silky harmonies and addictive hooks, this exquisite taster of her upcoming “Sugar & Spice” EP, which is to be released early next year, is nothing to be sneezed at.
