With an impressive career spanning over five decades, this first lady of disco has earned her status as a legend of the Philadelphia sound. Hailing from Albany, she started singing gospel music in church at the age of five with her siblings. She formed The Debonnetts in 1968, later called First Choice in the 70s and was a member of MFSB. She debuted as a solo artist with her self-titled album in 1979.
