In The Spotlight

Melissa Carter – “Long Way”

This Los Angeles native singer and songwriter initially started posting music to YouTube as a series called “The Bathroom Sessions”, catching the attention of producer Steve Churchyard. They worked together on the release of her debut EP “Edge Of The Sun” in 2017. Influenced by Carrie Underwood, Janis Joplin and Sheryl Crow, she forged a fresh sound blending country music with pop and rock.

With an Americana core, enriched with pop elements and a country-dipped chorus, her new single is a multi-layered rollercoaster. Musically inspired by the passing of legend Tom Petty, this sonic soundscape incorporates both passion and punch. Her lush, flavorful vocals with a bit of twang chronicle the complex struggles of sensitive souls and elevate this tune to an impressive auditory delight.
