Danny Toeman – “She’s Got Something About Her”

Adding a modern touch to the classic funk and soul vibes, this vibrant, London-based singer and songwriter created a charismatic sound filled with fervor and style. Inspired by Wilson Pickett, Bobby Womack and James Brown, he attended Leeds Music College and sung in a funk band at University. He’s supported the likes of Robert Cray and Betty Wright as well as selling out his own headline shows.

With the delicate smoothness of buttery sixties soul, his new single oozes the vintage charisma of Motown-like melodic honey. With an easygoing instrumentation of an alluring rhythm and sunny guitars setting the mood, it’s his fiery vocal chops with a bit of raw grit and the addition of rousing horns which truly set this vitalizing groove apart and make it sound like a timeless slice of sweet soul.

Tenna – “Skies”

Listening to her father play Neil Young and Bob Dylan songs on guitar when she was growing up, firmly planted the musical roots of this Canadian singer and songwriter. Since then she’s performed at charity and school events, open mic nights and reached the semi-finals of Hidden Talent Canada. With a genre-spanning, poetic songwriting style, she debuted with the single “Silver Storm” in June.

Her sophomore single, taken from her upcoming EP “Silver Storm”, which is expected to drop in October, shows a vulnerable beauty from a mellow beat, fresh electric guitar and her spirited, emotionally-laden vocals right from the start. Building up to a potent crescendo of impassioned auditory romanticism, this impressive piece of polished powerpop makes every note reach the skies.
