Goldmyth – “Video”

Born as Jenessa Smith and hailing from Provo, this singer and songwriter started taking harp and piano lessons as a child. Soon she started writing her own songs, which sparked her passion. She began playing local shows and formed a short-lived band, before deciding a solo path was the right one. Inspired by Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Sufjan Stevens, she debuted with “Lover’s Letdown” in 2017.

Dipped in a lyrical nostalgia forged by revisiting the past through old home movies, her new single also takes a musical journey back to the late 80s. Starting with a dreamy soundscape in which memories have free reign to thrive, soon the song opens up with resonant synths and a pulsating rhythm. And with her neon-colored vocals brightening every note, this is a dazzling and wistful jam.

Kainalu – “Turned Around”

Started in 2017 by multi-instrumentalist and producer Trent Prall, he named this project after the Hawaiian word for ocean waves. Drawing from his Japanese-Hawaiian heritage, he created an unique sonic brew of psychedelic funk with flourishes of disco, Motown and indie-rock. Inspired by the likes of Tame Impala, Radiohead and Hiatus Kaiyote, he released his debut EP “Bloom Lagoon” in 2017.

Chronicling the final moments of a failing relationship and the realization that you’re just holding on to the past rather than the present, his new single envelops the emotive lyrics with a mix of a breezy West-Coast mood and 70s rock. Taken from his album “Ginseng Hourglass”, it’s the ethereal, easygoing vibe, retro rock guitar solo and airy vocals that gives this rich tune a carefree bounce.

Pamela Megan Apsi – “Portugal”

Hailing from Sofia, this multi-talented Bulgarian artist is a singer, songwriter, dancer, actress and model. Getting her musical talents from her musician dad, she inherited her sense of style and fashion from her mother. On top of all her other creative endeavors, she also teaches singing at the Muzarto Artistic Academy. Inspired by Michael Jackson and Tina Turner, she debuted with her EP “Feeling” in 2020.

Lyrically telling the story about missing your lover while he’s far away, her new single is filled with pure sonic seduction. Taken from her latest EP “Trust In Me”, it’s the silky-smooth blend of soft soul and easygoing jazz from the acoustic combo that creates a delightfully mellow vibe. And with her mesmerizing, jazz-infused vocal charm dancing over the notes, this tune is a truly enchanting jam.

Tungz – “Messages”

Born out of a basement home studio in Bristol, this British quartet first got together playing in funk and disco bands of the local music scene. Nicky Green, Jamie Maier, Rick Holland and Ollie Horne joined forces and took their sound into a different direction. Keeping a groove in their music, their broad influences range from Quincy Jones to Bombay Bicycle Club. They debuted with “Window Love” in 2018.

Singing about romanticising a past that never existed, their new single adds a captivating melody to the altered memories of yesteryear. Taken from their upcoming debut album “A Good Dream”, expected on February 17th, it’s the comforting synth soundscape, dipped in a neon wave of 80s hues, a lively beat and mesmerizing vocal harmonies, that make this an ear-stroking retro-pop gem.

The Everettes – “Soul Thing”

Inspired by Northern Soul, Stax and Neo-Soul, this 9-piece Berlin-based outfit brings back the invigorating vibe of 60s girl groups. Having emerged from a former band called The Floorettes, their new iteration is fronted by British Jess and German Laura and Katharina. With a vocal power remindful of the soulful warmth of Carole King and Laura Nyro, they debuted with “Are You For Real” in 2019.

Celebrating what truly matters in life, namely being a good person, their new single embraces the classic soul sound of the 60s. Highlighting the fiery, powerhouse vocals of Jess Roberts, it’s the groovy melody, bursting with lavish percussion, bountiful brass and a resplendent electric guitar solo, that turns this opulent soul thing into a true nostalgic and extravagant, soul-infused experience.

Roberta Battaglia – “Truce”

Born in Toronto into a musical family, this gifted Canadian singer and songwriter started singing at the age of three, performing with her dad Alessandro Battaglia. At 9 years young she performed Lady Gaga’s “Shallow” on Toronto’s Breakfast Television which went viral. She’s also a golden buzzer winner on season 15 of America’s Got Talent. As an actress she debuts in “Three Pines” on Amazon Prime Video.

Lyrically chronicling the pain and hurt she encountered in her school years, her debut single highlights the need to put an end to negativity from our past and turn it into something positive. With an ascending melody of crisp piano and imposing drums reaching a crescendo in the infectious chorus, it’s her slightly country-esque, soaring vocals that turn this pop debut into an extraordinary jam.
