In The Spotlight

Tatyana Kalko – “Thank You For The Pain”

Born in Belarus and based in New York City, this singer and songwriter is a classically trained vocalist and self-taught guitarist and piano player. Blending her rich Slavic and Jewish heritage with contemporary sounds, she’s explored everything from folk and electro-pop to jazz and chansons. Influenced by the likes of Leonard Cohen and The Beatles, she released her debut “On Repeat” in 2018.

Capturing sheer beauty in four minutes of exceptional elegance, her new single takes her talent for storytelling and lifts it up with a stunning melody. The sumptuous piano sets the tone, while the handclap rhythm and the velveteen strings stroke her silky, dulcet vocals. Lyrically talking about our inner struggles and how to overcome them, this smooth groove leaves a lot to be thankful for.
