In The Spotlight

Momo Said – “Sunny Side Of The Street”

Although he was born in Morocco, this singer, songwriter, musician and multilinguist was raised in Italy. Listening to every record and tape his father used to sell on the market, he immersed himself in multiple genres, ranging from funk and soul, to jazz and disco. Inspired by artists like Curtis Mayfield and People’s Choice and with a strong creative flair, he released his debut album “Spirit” in 2013.

With a touch of James Brown, a pinch of Earth, Wind & Fire and a whole load of his own passion for 70s funk and soul, this is a funkalicious retro trip into the neon haze of the hottest discoteques around. It’s the invigorating rhythm, disco strings and blazing brass generating a fiery groove and the addition of his mellifluous vocals, that makes you put on your flares and platform shoes and boogie down.
