In The Spotlight

Sir Woman – “Highroad”

Known for co-founding and fronting indie pop band Wild Child and being a member of 70s-style pop-rock band Glorietta, Austin-based Kelsey Wilson shows that she has a lot more musical strings to her bow. Over time and across the diverse projects, she’s co-written and sung on over 15 albums spanning a plethora of genres. Her latest creation allows her to delve into her vintage funky and soulful side.

The first single of her forthcoming debut album “Party City” puts a funkalicious appetizer in a blender with a 70s soul seasoning and a dash of retro pop and creates a tasty fusion of groovy delights. The sprightly piano, easygoing rhythm and jovial horns lay down a happiness-inducing melody, while her smooth, effervescent vocals and joyous backing harmonies put on a soul-dipped Summery sheen.
