Vocalist and songwriter Emmaline Campbell started her career by founding a four-piece band, while attending the College-Conservatory Of Music in Cincinnati, where all members majored in Jazz Studies. Inspired by legendary voices like Billie Holiday and Erykah Badu, her intricate songwriting incorporates elements of both jazz and soul. As a solo artist, she debuted with the single “Shy” in 2018.
The first single of her upcoming, same-titled debut EP, expected to drop on September 27, oozes a seductive and intoxicating vintage jazz sound. With a sultry, honey-dripping smoothness from the mellow percussion and the satiny horns creating a rousing soundscape, it’s her silky, retro-dipped vocal mastery that turns this candy-coated slice of jazz suaveness into the sweetest musical dream.
