In The Spotlight

Ticket 2 Mars – “Freedom Over Dollar Signs”

Binding elements of 70s disco, reggae and funk with a modern pop aesthetic, this is the brainchild of Australian performer, songwriter and DJ Adam Leatherbarrow. He’s spent many years playing local bands and running music events both in Sydney and the Sunshine Coast. Recently partnered with friend and producer Luke Bertoz, they’ve been working on creating their self-titled debut album.

Taking inspiration from 70s disco, yet creating a kind of laid-back West-Coast feel, his new single is like velvet on the ears. The mellow rhythm takes the driving seat, while the breezy keys, airy guitars and soft violins create the auditory sunshine for this vintage roadtrip. And with his sleek and silkened vocals providing the wind in your hair, this smooth groove radiates some summery 70s freedom.
