In The Spotlight

Jessie Munro – “Under Fire”

Born in Toronto, Canada, but now based in the bright lights of Los Angeles, this impressive twenty-three year-young songstress studied at the Berklee School Of Music, developing her stunning soulful vocals and songwriting prowess. Influenced by the likes of Carole King and Charlotte Day Wilson, she devised an electro R&B/pop style by blending old-school classics with modern sounds.

Driven by bouncy bass plucks and a compelling rhythm, her latest single manages to sound both fun and upbeat and yet create a dreamlike sphere. Taken from her soon to drop “On My Own” EP, the song chronicles the pressures of social expectations. Airy guitars accompany her silky, soulful vocals to paint an inspirational musical picture by fusing the mesmerizing melody with her lyrical poetry.
