In The Spotlight

Philthy – “Party Crashers”

As a former member of Prince’s New Power Generation, musical visionary Phillip Lassiter is no stranger to a funkadelic vibe. Primarily a jazz trumpeter, he is a multi-instrumentalist as well as a singer and songwriter. Having won 7 Grammy awards, he worked with the likes of Al Jarreau, Kelly Rowland and Timbaland. His latest musical endeavor fuses his skills into a 13-piece soul spectacular.

The title-track of their new album is an explosive funk extravaganza, straight out of the groovy 70s. The blasting, full-bodied brass is ear-tingling and breathtaking, while the disco drums will give you goosebumps. The vigorous funky vocals and uplifting, sexy and soulful harmonies are filled with a manic energy. This out-of-this-world shindig is a dynamic, foot-tappin’ party of bombastic proportions.
