JGrrey – “Better Off”

Born as Jennifer Clarke in London, this British singer and songwriter wrote songs most of her childhood, initially without realizing she had an equal talent for singing. Eventually, she immersed herself in music, honing her distinctive fusion sound. She’s released five singles since 2017, before dropping her debut EP “Grreydaze” earlier this year. She’s about to go on tour supporting Billie Eilish.

Produced by Jarreau Vandal and Ed Thomas, her new single fuses pop and R&B with a delicious jazzy acoustic orchestration. The bouncy rhythm, smooth bass line and sleek horns create a wonderful organic aural experience, while the silky backing vocals and added violins blend it together into an intoxicating jam. With her soulful voice stroking the melody, it couldn’t get much better than this.
