In The Spotlight

Lola Marsh – “Echoes”

Based in Tel Aviv, this Israeli indie pop duo, consisting of Yael Shoshana and Gil Landau, was formed back in 2013, after meeting through mutual friends. They performed at the Primavera Sound festival a year later. With influences ranging from Nina Simone to LCD Soundsystem, they debuted with their single “Sirens” in 2015. They’ve toured Europa and the US and had songs featured in film and TV.

With a grandiose Tarantino vibe, their new single is a celebration of decade-spanning nostalgia. A touch of late 60s rock, a smidge of early 70s pop, a dash of 80s synths and all soaked into an overflowing pool of spaghetti western-like, cinematic flamboyancy. Mixing the vintage majesty of the reverb guitar plucks with her lush, retro-styled vocals, this groove will keep echoing in your ears .
